Walkerville Business Improvement Association

Walkerville is one of the most unique neighbourhoods you’ll find in Canada, with a rich history steeped in the rollicking days of smugglers during Prohibition, the birth of the auto industry, and many “firsts” for a model 19th town.  Take some time to read more about this in the History link on our website!

Now a modern, lively part of Windsor Ontario, Walkerville retains its heritage with an innate sense of “small town” welcome.  Revitalization projects are constantly on the go, including a recently completed two-phase streetscape that recaptures the pedestrian-friendly flair of its founding.

Unique shops, boutiques and restaurants line these streets, inviting a leisurely stroll with shopping and an excellent dining experience. The tree-canopied residential side streets offer verdant shade in the summer and sparkle with lights in the glow of winter, lined with many impressive heritage designated homes.  Just steps from Windsor’s scenic riverfront, Walkerville offers a modern urban community enveloped by the architecture and heritage of its 160-year-old former town.

The Walkerville BIA represents the proud membership of the commercial building and business owners of Walkerville.  A business district designated by Windsor City Council, and legislated through Ontario’s Municipal Act, our BIA is focused on beautifying and promoting the Walkerville business area.  We have recently completed a new Strategic Plan which will again guide our efforts in facilitating the continued and future success of Walkerville.

MISSION:

The Walkerville BIA with its members and partners creates and maintains a vibrant, historic, diverse business district through beautification, business development, and promotion.

VISION:

Walkerville is the chosen destination for visitors, businesses and residents.
